The second season of The Last of Us will not cover the events of the second part of the game
Yesterday, we got the ninth and final episode of the first season of The Last of Us, which, over the course of its episodes, managed to achieve great popularity, whether in terms of viewership or even ratings and opinions of major critics, which prompted HBO to quickly announce its renewal for a second season in a month. Last January, but it seems that the new season will not cover the events of the second part of the entire game.
The series’ supervisors, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, were asked during an interview with GQAsked if The Last of Us Part 2 will be covered during the events of the second season of the series, Mazen quickly replied, “No, that’s impossible.”
Druckmann added that the events of the second part of the game will need more than one season. It is expected that the events of the second part of the game will cover two seasons and possibly more of the series.
But Neil Druckmann stated that, like the first season of The Last of Us, the second season will see differences from the second season of the game, and that they are making some plot changes, as happened with the first season. This, of course, we will learn about when showing the episodes of the second season, which has not yet entered the production stage.
