It is certain that Sony has postponed all the huge PlayStation conferences pending the decision of the oversight committees regarding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, and it has been rumored for some time that the PlayStation Showcase event will return very soon with huge announcements.
Speaking recently during Game Mess Decidesleaker Jeff Grubb said the upcoming PlayStation showcase will be a “huge” event and Sony will use it to “prepare PlayStation 5 Phase 2”, with a host of key first-party games revealed.
Grubb says the show was originally set to take place last fall, but was pushed back because “the developers weren’t ready,” and is now scheduled to take place shortly before E3, though a final event date hasn’t been settled yet.
