The new Nintendo Switch grip revives the most famous hand controller in the history of the Japanese company

NYXI, the manufacturer of gaming peripherals, recently announced a new grip for the Nintendo Switch.

Not only is the controller’s grip design simply reminiscent of the WaveBird — aka the best controller Nintendo has ever made — but the company claims that this product will never suffer from the Joy-Con’s famous slipping problem.

The NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-Pad is a wireless controller that features a host of customizations, including two remapping back buttons, as well as interchangeable joystick rings, where you can use the round joystick to play racing games or put an octagonal circle on the grip when you’re at it. About to play a fighting game. NYXI claims about 6.5 hours of battery life on a single full charge.

The most notable feature of the Wizard controller is the claim that it will not suffer from Joy-Con drift. NYXI says it was able to achieve this through the use of a Hall Effect joystick. Simply put, Hall Effect joysticks use a magnetic system, which means the joystick never actually touches the sensor itself.

With Joy-Con drift being one of the biggest persistent issues with the Nintendo Switch to date, this controller certainly appeals to those looking for a solution to this problem.

The NYXI Wizard controller is now available on the NYXI website for $69.
