The 26th DICE Awards ended, and while God of War Ragnarok dominated the rest with 7 awards, Elden Ring took home the most important award and the title of Best Game of the Year 2022.
The DICE Awards took place at the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS), and were hosted by IGN’s Greg Miller, Kinda Fanny and Stella Chung. In addition, IGN is proud to be the media partner for the 26th DICE Awards.
There were 23 different categories on the show, and as mentioned earlier, God of War Ragnarok won the most categories, including awards for outstanding achievement in graphics, art direction, characters, original music composition, sound design, and story.
In addition to the Game of the Year award, Elden Ring won four other categories: Outstanding Technical Achievement, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design and Direction, and Role Playing Game of the Year.
In addition to honoring the games and their studios, the DICE Awards celebrated the induction of Double Fine Productions founder Tim Schafer into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame for influencing the gaming industry for more than 30 years.
