The director of Diablo 4 states that there are currently no plans to release the game for the Xbox Game Pass library
Diablo IV director Rod Ferguson confirmed that the game will not be released via Xbox Game Pass or even PC Game Pass, and even encouraged players to try out the upcoming beta this weekend.
Ferguson explained via his official account on the website Twitter saying:
It’s great to see the excitement around the Diablo IV beta. We’ve had some questions about the possibility of D4 coming to Game Pass subscribers and I want to let you know that we don’t have any plans for that. See you in-game during the early beta weekend, which kicks off March 17th.
Some expected the launch of Diablo IV for Microsoft’s subscription service, but because Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard has not expired, it is logical that we will not see it through the service on the day of release.
The early access beta for Diablo IV runs from March 17 to 19, and the open beta runs from March 24 to 26, while the official launch of the game will take place on June 6 for PS5, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.
