Quantumania talks about the most important difference between Kang and Thanos

With the release of the upcoming movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Jonathan Majors’ version of the villain, Kang the Conqueror, will be officially introduced to audiences in bold and powerful fashion. This is after this villain was briefly introduced in Loki as He Who Remains, whom Sylvie decides to kill despite knowing his death would eventually unleash countless powerful versions of Kang bent on conquering the multiverse.

And now Kang takes center stage in the multiverse saga. In a new interview with SFX Magazinescreenwriter Jeff Loveness explained how Marvel is looking to create a villain as great as Thanos.

“For me it’s all about humanity,” Lovinis said. “Obviously Thanos is a cool, unique villain, but he’s also a big, purple dude made out of digital images. He’s from outer space. The thing I wanted to steer clear of is that Kang is human.”

Kang’s role is sure to expand beyond Ant-Man 3, as the next Avengers movie bears his name quite clearly: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is set to hit theaters in 2025 and is also written by Loveness.

Loveness continued, “Kang is also a very lonely character. We’ll see a lot of him in many different ways from now on, but I wanted to introduce the human and even the vulnerable side of this character before he reaches the levels.” [الشريرة] devastatingly high for the Avengers.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania kicks off Marvel’s Phase 5, which will see the continued growth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in both movies and series before the next Avengers reunion. It’s already been teased that the new movie will set high stakes for the rest of the franchise, so delivering the perfect villain is essential. However, Loveness seems confident that Kang will be special.

He said, “Kang is a first-rate villain on the level of the Avengers. What do you do when you feel like you’re not up to it? How do you rise to this generation’s challenge, which is many times the level of Thanos?” [Kang] Almost as infinite as Thanos. I think we are setting the stage for a very exciting story.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on February 17.
