Professor Layton’s Switch game will also see Luke return

Professor Layton will return to the Nintendo Switch with Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, and recently Level 5 announced that his trusted sidekick Luke Triton will return in the highly anticipated game as well.

Publisher Level 5 recently released a new trailer for its upcoming detective puzzle game, and it’s a longer take on the short Nintendo Direct video teaser we all saw last month.

The trailer begins with a voiceover from Luke, who is writing a letter to Professor Layton, and the trailer reveals that it has been one year since Luke broke up with Layton at the end of 2010 with Professor Layton and the Unwound Future and that he has settled into his new life in America.

The trailer then shows Layton flying to a city inspired by steampunk settings called Steam Bison to reunite with Luke.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is the tenth installment in the series and the eighth by Hershel Layton himself, as we haven’t seen the professor in a starring role since Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney in 2014.
