It has been officially announced that M3GAN will make its return to the big screen with a sequel, titled M3GAN 2.0, which is currently in production at Universal Studios and will be released on January 17, 2025.
While not much is known about the plot, M3GAN 2.0 will see the return of Allison Williams and Violet McGraw in key roles. Akela Cooper will also return to write the screenplay for the sequel. It was the first film to be directed by Gerald Johnston, but a director for M3GAN 2 has yet to be announced.
M3GAN stands for Model 3 Generative Android and is the modern version of Chucky, which has taken social media and the box office by surprise. So far, it has collected $91 million worldwide, with a budget not exceeding $12 million.
M3GAN got relatively good reviews with 7 rating from IGN We said: “M3GAN proves to be more than meme depictions of a horror villain, although the film does struggle at times to balance horror and comedy.”
