A rumor of a multiplayer Horizon game surfaced earlier this year, but this is the first time Guerrilla has confirmed these plans for the machine hunting series.
Job listings provide more context. Where is required from Story designer The online project “tells a deep and complex story”, indicating that it is likely not just a team match-based game. As for Game author, he is required to “come up with compelling ideas for missions, factions, and backstories”, indicating that the game will at least have narrative elements similar to those of the main series. The chief battle designer for the project will be responsible for creating “a variety of enemies (both machines and humans) that focus on exciting combat with co-operative elements.”
Guerrilla notes in her tweet that she will “continue to create epic solo adventures for Aloy,” and therefore it can be assumed that the third main part of the Horizon series is also in the plans.
