Filming on Community will begin in June, according to Joel McHale
Actor Joel McHale has confirmed that filming for Community will begin in June, with most of the original cast returning for the sequel.
McHear recently appeared on the programme Jimmy Kimmel Live, and gave fans new details about the long-awaited Community movie. The comedian appeared on the show to discuss his new series Animal Control, but the conversation briefly veered to the topic of fan-favorite Greendale School group and when they will be reuniting.
“We’re making Community in June, so…thanks for remembering,” he joked after Kimmel asked him about the project.
McHale also confirmed that Ken Jeong will return to reprise his role, alongside original stars Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs and Jim Rash. Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover have yet to be confirmed as part of the cast, and Chevy Chase is unlikely to return after a very public spat on the series.
The sequel to the series was officially announced in September after years of campaigning by fans of the original series who were very excited to see the “6 Seasons 1 Movie” prophecy come true. Series creator Dan Harmon made it happen in August when he finally pitched the idea for a sequel.
