This morning, during the new State of Play episode, Larian Studio released a lengthy clip of the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 game, during which we saw different categories and snapshots of the cooperative gameplay experience, in addition to officially revealing the release date of the game, which will be available on August 31 through the PC and PS5 platform. Which bothered Xbox Series owners and asked about the fate of their copy, and here is the developer’s answer now.

Where the studio announced in an official statement to IGN, during which it confirmed that the studio plans to launch the game Baldur’s Gate 3 for PC and PS5, and that the Xbox Series version is still under development, but its disclosure has been postponed due to some technical problems, and therefore the game will not be ready for the Xbox Series version when launch.

Below is the text of the studio’s statement:

After announcing the launch date and release platforms, we plan to release Baldur’s Gate 3 for PC and PS5, we don’t have exclusivity to which platforms we can bring Baldur’s Gate 3 to, and we’ll announce support for other devices when we’re ready.

We’re seeing a lot of varying interpretations of what that means, so we wanted to be more clear, as we’ve had an Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 in development for some time, but we’ve had some technical issues with the development of the Xbox Series version that prevented us from feeling 100% confident in even announcing it. We make sure we find the right solutions.
