Whoopi Goldberg apologizes for Romani Slur: ‘I should have known better’
Whoopi Goldberg just released an official apology video highlighting the derogatory insult she shared in an episode for View.
Goldberg’s apology video went viral as soon as ABC official Twitter account of the talk show.
It was released shortly after the actual episode aired and sparked widespread backlash.
Claims have been made on a new episode for View and featured a comment against Roma from Trump’s political base.
There, she says, “people who still believe he got (expletive) somehow in the election.”
In an effort to explain his intentions behind the derogatory slur, Goldberg posted an apology video that explained, “When you get to a certain age, you use words you know from childhood or remember saying, and that’s what I’m doing today. And I shouldn’t have.
She also added, “I should have thought about it a little longer before saying it, but I didn’t. I should have said ‘cheated’ and I used another word and I’m really , really sorry.”
