Wes Bentley opens up about his struggle to let go of his on-set role
Yellowstone famous actor Wes Bentley, who starred as Jamie Dutton on the show, has opened up about taking his character’s deep sadness toll on his life.
The show garnered so much appreciation as Paramount’s first scripted series and also gained a sizable following.
Yellowstone season 5 drew over 12 million viewers. Apparently, the series is now on hiatus after its mid-season finale on January 1, with hopes of returning to the giant this summer.
During a conversation with The New York TimesBentley talks about portraying Jamie and how his deep sadness has impacted his personal life.
While grateful for his Yellowstone role, Bentley says he can usually separate work from family life, but struggled to do so playing the second-eldest Dutton son.
Bentley also noted that Jamie’s troubled nature “permeates” life with his family, and his wife often reminds him that he needs to let go of his on-set role.
“For most of my career, I was proud to have left it at the door or, as an athlete would say, to have left it on the field. But Jamie’s sadness permeates my life, even though I’m not sad. He said.
He added, “I’m very lucky to have a great family and to be where I am in life, but he’s always there behind me, hanging on to that, especially when I’m filming.”
