Vir Das is a global Indian star just like Priyanka Chopra.
Vir has achieved a lot of success in America and he was first compared to Priyanka because they are both global stars. However, Vir eventually broke his silence on the comparison and claimed that Priyanka was very different from him.
On a talk show, he openly talked about the comparison and wholeheartedly accepted that Priyanka is a bigger star than him. He said: “Nowhere near the level of Priyanka. Like Priyanka is the global Indian. I walk into a room, and there’s like ‘you’re Indian, you like Priyanka Chopra, right?’ So it’s a thing now. (I’ve been on The Tonight Show etc.) But not like Priyanka Chopra. I performed on The Tonight Show (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon), Priyanka Chopra is on the couch. C It’s a big difference, you know.”
He further added, “I couldn’t have more respect for what she’s done. And when she says it’s hard, I completely understand how hard it is for me now. And so to how much harder it would have been for her to break the initial gate.”
