Tom Cruise missed the 2023 Oscars ceremony on Sunday, where his blockbuster hit Top Gun: Maverick won the award for best sound.
Cruise, 60, skipped the 95th Academy Awards as he is currently busy filming for his next film Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part IIin the UK it has been reported.
Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Writing (Adapted Screenplay), Film Editing, Sound, Music (Original Song), and Visual Effects.
While Cruise didn’t attend the ceremony, just hours before the glitzy Hollywood event hits the floors, it’s been revealed that Lady Gaga will actually be playing her Oscar nominee. Top Gun: Maverick single, Hold My Hand.
Cruise’s absence from the Oscars came as a surprise to fans, as many saw him walking the star-studded red carpet after his appearance at the Oscar nominees’ luncheon in Los Angeles last month.
