The ‘Succession’ actor felt bad for ‘Home Alone’ stardom
Succession actor Kieran Culkin opened up about his reaction to his older brother Alone at home the aftermath of star Macaulay Culkin’s early stardom.
During an interview with Squirethe actor said, “He was small and had to try to accept that level of stardom as a reality,” adding, “Even then, when I was a kid, I remember thinking, it sucks for him. “
Previously, Kieran had expressed apprehensions about the aftermath of his brother’s runaway success, telling The Hollywood Reporter in 2021 that Macaulay “would be harassed on the street”.
“Once a woman took off her hat, looked at him and said, ‘Yeah, that’s him! You’re not that cute.’ And then I returned the hat and left,” the Igby Goes Down actor said.
Knowing the mess of success around his famous brother, the actor revealed that spilling over from that was his relationship with fame.
“I wouldn’t have been able to handle that, and I think I knew that,” he explained.
“I wouldn’t have been able to handle any type of success or attention that would come with it. So I literally ran away.”
