Shehzad Roy pays tribute to Wasu after Baloch singer’s death
NASIRABAD: Famous Baloch folk singer Wasu Khan, known for his distinguished singing style, has breathed his last after a long illness, family sources have confirmed to Geo News Friday.
He suffered from a respiratory illness and was admitted to a private hospital in Sukkur where he died.
Wasu became known to people when he starred with famous singer and artist Shehzad Roy in one of his music videos.
The Baloch singer had been a central character in Roy’s Apney Ulloo video and the two had worked together on several projects.
“We will miss him”
While offering his condolences, the Laga Re singer said Wasu Khan passed away this morning.
“He was unable to read and write, but had great political intelligence and wrote political satires. He will be missed.”
Financial problems
In August 2020, Khan was going through financial troubles when Shehzad Roy came to his aid.
“The last 10 years I was in constant contact with Wasu until my whole family had corona,” the singer and education activist had tweeted.
“He didn’t call me, he said he didn’t want to bother me anymore and he wanted help from the government. So I came to Quetta to meet him, he asked me to take him at the CM, whom we met.” Roy had tweeted.
