Sharon Osbourne recalls defending Piers Morgan on the cover of Meghan Markle

Sharon Osbourne recalled a rough but difficult time as she recalled being canceled and ‘blacklisted’ in America after standing up for her friend, as she insisted ‘I never spoke with hate’ .

In March 2021, she fiercely defended Piers Morgan on The Talk against backlash from the panel who said he had been ‘racist and sexist’ in his coverage of Meghan Markle.

Appearing on This Morning on Monday, the TV personality told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield she’s living proof you can be blacklisted in America, adding: ‘I’ve gotten threats!’

When asked why she came back to the UK, Sharon joked: ‘I can’t be arrested in America. It went wrong. It turned green, very badly.

“They say there is no blacklisting in America, but I am living proof of that. Not that I hold a grudge or anything. It’s just a fact of life, it happens, doesn’t it?

Phillip asked, “So did you actually get cancelled?” to which the former X Factor judge insisted, “Yeah, I did.”

Sharon continued to discuss the fallout after defending Piers Morgan following her remarks about Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview.

She said: ‘I’ve had threats and things like that… It’s like I can look in the mirror, and I know I can talk and I’m loud and I know it from myself.

“But I never spoke with hate and I stand up for my friends and that’s what I was doing. I know who I am.’

In March 2021, Sharon and her former The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood had a heated discussion over comments made by Piers Morgan, who was accused of being racist in his public criticism of Meghan Markle.
