Sadie Sink is ready to star in Odessaan upcoming rock opera written and directed by Geremy Jasper, reported Deadline.
The outlet detailed that with original songs written and produced by Jasper and Jason Binnick, the film reunites producers Michael Gottwald for the film department, Noah Stahl and Rodrigo Teixeira for RT Features as well as executive producers Jonathan Montepare, Dan Janvey and Lourenco Sant’Anna. All worked on Jasper’s hit, Patti Cake$.
The news comes after his acclaimed performance in The whalewhich included a recent Critics Choice Award nomination.
Sink will play its role as a leader in Odessa in May this year in Croatia, before finishing the fifth and final season of Netflix Strange things.
While Sink is known for her roles in Stranger Things and The Whale, the actress also has experience on Broadway. According to DigitalSpy, Sink made her Broadway debut and starred in Anne before making his debut on the small screen.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Odessa is an original rock opera about a farm girl on an epic quest to reclaim a cherished family heirloom. Her journey takes her to a strange and dangerous town where she meets her one true love – but to save her soul, she must put the power of fate and song to the ultimate test.
