Russia uses Prince William’s visit to Poland to escalate tensions
Russia is using Prince William’s visit to Poland as an opportunity to escalate tensions with the West, according to express.co.uk.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova cited an article about the historic visit to imply that British troops were not just supporting the Ukrainians, but were actively involved in the fighting.
Seized of Prince William’s trip to Poland, Zakharova cited an article on the Tatler magazine website, which described William visiting “British and Polish troops involved in the war in Ukraine”.
She said the statement “completely dispels any doubts, if anyone has any, as to whether Britain and Poland are parties involved.”
In a statement on William’s visit, Kensington Palace said it was visiting these “supportive” Ukrainians – not involved in the fighting.
