Prince Harry talks about the driving lessons he took with King Charles.
Writing in his memoir ‘Spare’, the Duke of Sussex reveals his father taught him to drive.
Speaking of his family holiday to Balmoral in 2001, Harry writes: “We climbed a steep hill, past the whiskey distillery, down a windy driveway and down between fields of sheep, which were overrun with rabbits. That is to say those who are lucky enough to escape us. We had shot a bunch earlier that day. “
He adds: “After a few minutes we turned onto a dusty track, walked four hundred yards to a deer fence. I jumped, I opened the padlocked door. Now, finally, because we were on remote private roads, I was allowed to drive. I jumped behind the wheel, stepped on the gas, practiced all those driving lessons from Pa over the years, often sitting on his lap. I led us through crimson heather into the deepest folds of this vast Scottish moor. Ahead, like an old friend, stood Lochnagar, speckled with snow.
