Prince Harry says ‘beautiful’ Doria was punished for being Meghan Markle’s mother
Prince Harry discusses British media attribution of Meghan Markle’s mother.
Doria Ragland was swept up in the media frenzy after photos of Meghan with Harry became public.
Writing in his memoir ‘Spare’, the Duke of Sussex notes how his mother-in-law’s roots were ridiculed, particularly by Boris Johnson’s sister.
He writes: “Sister Johnson further felt that Meg’s mother Doria was on the ‘wrong side of the tracks’ and as cold evidence she cited Doria’s dreadlocks.”
He adds: “This filth was broadcast to three million Britons, about Doria, lovely Doria, born in Cleveland, Ohio, a graduate of Fairfax High School, in a mostly middle-class area of Los Angeles.”
