Olivia Colman almost turned down the ‘Great Expectations’ offer
Olivia Colman revealed he almost rejected great expectations because of his connection with Gillian Anderson and Helena Bonham Carter.
Talk to BBC News before the premiere, The night manager The actress said she was hesitant to take on the role her former The Crown co-stars Anderson and Bonham Carter took on.
“I really struggled with the idea of being compared to my friends,” she added.
She continued, “[But] I wanted to play [Miss Havisham] so I thought, ‘well, that’s what happens with all actors. You all end up playing the same roles sometimes, and that’s okay. So I hope Gillian and Helly don’t think I’m doing a terrible job with this!
The Oscar-winning actor took on the role of Miss Havisham in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens’ popular novel.
great expectations is due out on BBC One at 9pm on Sunday March 26.
