Netflix drops release date for David Fincher’s ‘The Killer’
Netflix’s Next Dark Thriller The killer starring Michael Fassbender is heading to the streaming giant in November 2023.
Based on the French graphic novel of the same name by Alexis Nolent, the thriller stars Michael Fassbender in the lead role and Tilda Swinton in an undisclosed role. The film will also star Kerry O’Malley as Dolores and Charles Parnell as Hodges, per ScreenRant.
The film is directed by Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee David Fincher, known for his critically acclaimed hits such as Gone Girl, Mank, The Social Network, Zodiac, Se7ento name a few.
The series consists of twelve episodes released between 1998 and 2013. The books follow an unnamed assassin who, after years of being the best at what he does, begins to break down and suffer a psychological breakdown. The screenplay of the film is adapted by Andrew Kevin Walker.
According to Netflix, the film will follow “a lonely, cold man, methodical and unhindered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target.”
As the killer waits, he begins to believe he is losing his mind, even though he is “cool” and calm on the outside. And it gets worse the longer he has to wait.
