Meghan Markle saw ‘snipers’ after walking up the aisle on wedding day
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry saw a high-profile security protocol outside their wedding venue.
The couple who tied the knot in 2018 had faced various death threats at events leading up to their big day.
Explaining their feelings on occasion, Harry writes in his memoir ‘Spare’: “As magical as the official ceremony was, we’d both be slightly scared of it by… the crowds. Underlining that feeling: the first thing we saw walking up the aisle and out of the church, apart from a stream of smiling faces, there were snipers.”
He continued: “On the rooftops, among the buntings, behind the cascades of streamers. Police told me this was unusual, but necessary. Due to the unprecedented number of threats they were receiving.”
