Meghan Markle and Prince Harry accused of playing a ‘dangerous game’ in the United States

According to a royal commentator, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been accused of having a double standard, as they sometimes attract attention and other times cry out against harassment.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are playing a ‘dangerous game’ in the United States to win back their reputation. according to royal expert Daniela Elser

In an op-ed in the New Zealand Herald, Elser claims that despite the Duke of Sussex tearing down the business for playing the media game, that’s exactly what he did with the promotion of his memoir Spare, which saw him give a number of tell-all interviews for the mainstream media.

Elser wrote: “This week’s story of Lili’s christening has been shattered by the most tabloid of headlines, and by a London-based journalist who frequently covers the royal family and has to spend gray mornings in Welsh towns rendering account of the Princess of Wales’ outings, no less.”

“To be clear here, the actual story does not quote the Duke or Duchess directly – but does include confirmation from a spokesperson and details of when the event took place (Friday March 3) and by whom (“the Bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, the Reverend John Taylor”) as well as a plethora of intimate details,” she added.

The author continued: “Yet there was no outcry from the Duke and Duchess over the invasion of their privacy, with the press poking their rapacious noses into the privacy of the family.”

Elser went on to say that Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, also had a similar relationship with the press, sometimes courting attention and other times shouting against the harassment.

On the other hand, some royal commentators have called on the Sussexes to stick to the royal tiles even if they publicly criticize senior royals.
