“That’s where I was taken to the back by a studio boss – and I’m like 5’5 and about 103 pounds. — and he basically said, ‘You’re an embarrassment to your family. You’re fat,’” the 63-year-old recalled.

The actress-singer also claimed her producer told her “250 people are going to lose their jobs because you can’t keep food out of your fat face.”

After the remarks, Marie shared that she went on a strict diet that “brought her down to around 92 pounds”, putting her health at risk and developed “body dysmorphia”.

“I was in the dressing room, bent over to put on my pantyhose, and there was a girl there changing who was just an emaciated skeleton with skin,” Marie remarked.

She continued. “And I just thought, ‘Oh my God, that’s so sick,’ and I got up and realized that girl was me.”

And it was just one of those big ‘AHA’s [moments]that ‘Oh, body dysmorphia is a real thing,’” she added.

Reflecting on the struggles of being a child star, Marie credited the support of her parents who helped her “get through those tough years” at the time.
