Malala Yousafzai wins praise for her ‘classy’ response to Jimmy Kimmel at the 2023 Oscars
Nobel Peace Prize winner and education campaigner Malala Yousafzai has been praised for her quick response to 2023 Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel after he asked her for her opinion on Harry Styles and Chris Pine spit-gate .
The human rights activist, 25, attended the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday as executive producer of Stranger at the Gate, nominated for Best Documentary Short.
Malala was jokingly asked by Kimmel, 55, from her audience seat at the Dolby Theater about the alleged spit beef between Don’t Worry Darling co-stars Chris and Styles.
“Your work in the area of human rights and the education of women and children is inspiring,” Kimmel said as she reached where Malala was sitting.
“As the youngest Nobel laureate in history, I was wondering, do you think Harry Styles spat on Chris Pine?” He asked.
“I’m only talking about peace,” Malala replied. “You know what, that’s why you’re Malala and no one else is,” Kimmel said, before quickly moving on.
Her response was welcomed by many viewers who praised her reaction on social media.
“Imagine talking to Malala and asking her what she thinks of Harry Styles and Chris Pine beefing…crazy,” one Twitter user said.
“Okay, but did @jimmykimmel seriously ask @Malala for Harry Styles to spit on Chris Pine? His response was so classy and perfect,” a third person wrote on Twitter.
