Lucy Liu recently opened up about her decision to become a single mom in her 40s.
In a new interview with The cup, Liu, who has a seven-year-old son, said, “I didn’t have a plan. I just thought, “I want to change the conversation a bit.”
THE Shazam! Fury of the gods The actress continued, “I didn’t give it too much thought. I didn’t do much research; I just pulled the trigger.
“I can easily think of anything,” the 54-year-old said
The actress explained, “If I overthink it, I won’t. It’s better for me to feel something and go for it. Many people read parenting books.
“I didn’t do any of that. I was like, ‘When the kid is here, I’m just going to figure it out,’” Liu remarked.
Elsewhere in the interview, Liu also talked about raising her son in a New York City.
“I absolutely wanted to raise a child in New York. People are going to say, ‘It’s not practical, you don’t even have a car,’ but that way they’re going to see everything,” the actress explained.
Liu mentioned, “You’re going to show them what’s safe and what’s not, and they’re going to figure it out through experience.”
“It’s hard to use common sense when you’re in a car all the time. They are going to smell the smells,” she added.
