Ice skating legend Yuzuru Hanyu performed on Starry Night For dynamite, the popular track of K-pop group BTS. The skater has talked about BTS in the past and expressed interest in performing on their songs.
Although Yuzuru retired in 2022, he has still made appearances with solo shows as he prepares to be a part of Stars On Ice Japan 2023.
Before officially joining Stars on icehe came to play Starry Night. The new show was made in memory of the tragic Tōhoku tsunami and earthquake in 2011, hoping to offer solace 12 years after the event.
Yuzuru participated in the show’s production as he is from the Tōhoku region and was also personally affected by the event. According to him, he chose to perform for dynamite because the song originally made people smile during the pandemic and wanted to do the same.
