King Charles decides to treat Prince Edward’s wound and will make him the Duke of Edinburgh

King Charles III, who reportedly intended to elevate Prince Edward by bestowing the Duke of Edinburgh title on Princess Charlotte, has now decided to lick his youngest brother’s wound by changing his mind on the decision.

The monarch, 74, would make Prince Edward the Duke of Edinburgh following a ‘change of heart’ as he previously reportedly considered giving the title to Princess Charlotte.

Charlotte, the seven-year-old middle child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, whom she would take back once she was old enough.

The change of heart is believed to be part of Charles’ effort to make amends with his younger brother, as Edward reportedly viewed the new king’s decision to ignore him as a “slap in the face”.

“It was a slap in the face, especially when Edward was such a help to Charles on Andrew’s farrago, a source told the Daily Mail. Also because the Queen had promised him the title before his death and that It was always believed by Edward and Sophie that in time the title would then pass to their son, Viscount Severn.

“Now it seems the tide is turning. Obviously the King has had time to consider the late Queen’s wishes.”

It is worth mentioning here that the title of Duke of Edinburgh has historically been important in maintaining the union with Scotland, which is currently facing increasing challenges. It is also possible that Charles is asking for the title to revert to Edward’s Crown instead of passing it on to his heirs.
