King Charles and Prince William have a ‘cardinal rule’ for travel, nobody cares about ‘Spare’
King Charles and Prince William have a strict rule when traveling under the Royal Code, Prince Harry explains.
The Duke of Sussex reveals how, under the ‘cardinal rule of royal travel’, the King and William could not take off on the same plane.
“Dad and William could never be on the same flight together, as there must be no chance of the first and second in line to the throne being wiped out,” Harry wrote in ‘Spare’.
“But nobody cared who I traveled with; the Spare could always be spared. I knew it, I knew my place, so why go out of my way to study it? Why memorize the names of old spare parts? What was the meaning of that? he added.
Prince Harry’s memoir is now on the shelves.
