Kate Middleton left a ‘magnificent’ impression on Reese Witherspoon in 2011 who remembers meeting the royal in her book Whiskey in a teacup.
Shedding light on her encounter with the royal, Reese admitted she felt ‘immune’ to the ‘obsession’ with the Royal Family until she received an invitation to meet the current Princess of Wales.
“I don’t even know how I was lucky enough to receive the invitation. The cry that came from my lips upon receiving it – you thought I was going to die,” she wrote in her book.
“You can see rays of happiness streaming from my face. I love Kate Middleton so much,” she continued. “And she did not disappoint! She was just adorable and warm, elegant and poised. She also told a joke, and I immediately fell in love with her.
“She’s as gorgeous as she looks. She’s a very compassionate, socially conscious and deeply caring person.
“It takes a very special person to decide to commit to this kind of life,” she said.
“Choosing to be under public scrutiny at all times. Now that she’s in this position, her whole life is service, forever. I’m so impressed with that kind of dedication,” she added.
