Jenna Ortega Reacts to Original Wednesday Addams Lisa Loring’s Death
Jenna Ortega has paid tribute to original Wednesday Addams actress Lisa Loring after her death at 64.
Loring was the first actress to star as Wednesday Addams in the 1966 sitcom The Addams Family when she was only six years old. While 20-year-old Ortega plays the teenage version of Netflix’s morbidly pigtailed Wednesday character.
Following Loring’s passing, Ortega took to her Instagram Stories to post about the late actress.
She shared a black and white photo of Lisa playing the role as a child and added a touching message to it. “Absolutely devastated. Thanks for everything,” she wrote.

The post comes after news broke of Loring’s death. She died Saturday evening, Jan. 28, 2023, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank from complications of a stroke caused by high blood pressure, her daughter Vanessa Foumberg said. The Hollywood Reporter.
“She left peacefully with her two daughters [Vanessa and Marianne] holding his hand,” she said.
Loring’s longtime agent Chris Carbaugh said in a statement to CNN that the late actress was “surrounded by her family”.
“She brought to life one of the most iconic characters in Hollywood history who is still celebrated today,” Carbaugh said. “Lisa loved sharing her memories and meeting all of her fans around the world. She will be sorely missed.”
Before Lisa’s death, Jenna opened up about the impact she had and how she honored her in the new Netflix series, during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I paid tribute to Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams. I did a bit of her shuffle that she does,” Jenna said in December 2022, via HollywoodLife.
