Javed Akhtar sarcastically said that ‘just as there should be a censor board in Madhya Pradesh, similarly there should be one in Hinduism. What is the problem in this. Javed Akhtar further said, “If it is a matter of Hinduism, then other religions should also have a censor board. We have four-five major religions here, get everyone’s own censor done. Maulvi people will watch movies on this pretext.” When Javed Akhtar was asked what is the solution to the disputes on films, he said that ‘it is the responsibility of the central government to ensure that the certificates issued by the censors are respected’.
