A$AP Rocky is enjoying fatherhood to the fullest.
In an interview with Zane Lowe on the Apple Music 1 on radio Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, the Grammy-nominated rapper opened up about what it’s like to be a father.
“I’m a member of our club now, like the dads club. You see a dad, you see me. I keep playing, I’m a full dad now,” said the rapper, who welcomed a son with Rihanna in May 2022.
He also added that now that he’s a parent, he has a whole other perspective on things, even when it comes to being creative.
“Being outside and working and being creative gives you more energy to think and absorb things like a sponge now that I’m a dad, because I have a whole different perspective.”
He continued, “But it honestly helps you go home with your family and go home with your baby. And I can’t even explain it, man. You return to paradise every day. I am so grateful. God is good, man.
Rocky and Rihanna, both 34, started dating in November 2020 after a nearly decade-long friendship. The couple welcomed a son together two years after they met, per People’s Magazine.
Rocky also raved about RiRi’s upcoming Super Bowl performance which he called “incredible” and added that he was “more excited than anyone” for it.
He said that professionally, the year had been a haze for both of them. “It’s just amazing,” the rapper continued. “Especially for both of us – it’s been a good year for both of us to be more active and to be out there. But the Super Bowl is huge, and being the creator that she is, she’s going to bring it, man, I’m excited, I’m more excited than everyone, honestly.
