HBO Series ‘Succession’ Will End With Season 4, Creator Confirms
HBO series Succession Creator Jesse Armstrong has confirmed that the series will end with its season 4.
The Emmy-winning HBO drama that reshaped the premium cable network after the hit series ended Game Of Thronesalso coming to an end.
Creator and showrunner Armstrong has revealed that the upcoming fourth season will indeed be its final airing on the Warner Bros.-backed premium cable network. Discovery.
By talking to New Yorker he said that “there is a promise in the title of Succession. I never thought it could go on forever.”
“The ending has always been kind of on my mind. Ever since season two, I’ve been trying to think, is this the next one, or the one after that, or is this the one after that?” he added.
He further explained, “I sat down with a couple of my fellow writers before I started writing Season 4, around November, December 2021, and I kind of said, ‘Listen, I think maybe that should be it. But what do you think?’ And we played different scenarios: we could do a few short seasons, or two more seasons.”
He continued “or we could go on for ages and turn the show into something quite different, and be a more expansive, freewheeling kind of fun show, where there would be good weeks and bad weeks. Or we could do something a little more muscular and full, and come out pretty strong. And that’s always been my preference.
However, representatives for HBO declined the request to comment on anything other than confirming the New Yorker the story is accurate.
Season 4 of Succession is set to premiere March 26, 2023 on HBO.
