Frozen star Idina Menzel expresses regret over Let It Go change
Frozen star Idina Menzel recently revealed what she regrets the most about the hit song Let it go currency.
Talk to CNN EntertainmentIdina recalled how she requested a change in her voice after first recording the song, which now bothered her.
“I knew it was a real accomplishment and a great chance to be a Disney princess, to be welcomed into the Disney family and to be in a musical, I knew it was pretty epic, but I didn’t had no idea it would become the phenomenon that it did,” the 51-year-old said.
Idina continued, “So I went in once and sang it and came back another time, because they had written another part and they changed some lyrics.”
“I realized that I felt like my voice sounded too mature, to really embody this young woman you see in the film, so I asked them to cover it — I don’t know why I did this, because when I’m in concert all over the world and I have a cold and I just want to kill myself,” the actress-singer explained.
Idina pointed out, “I asked them, ‘Let’s take a half step and see,’ because it sounds a little more innocent in my voice, a little younger.”
“As I was looking at her earlier, I was like, ‘Damn, what the hell was I thinking back there’. But I’m happy, because she looks a little younger and a little more vulnerable,” she concluded.
For the uninitiated, Idina gave voice to Queen Elsa in the Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee film, which became a superhit in 2013 and won two Oscars.
