Hailie Jade’s fiancé, Evan McClintock, has shared some details about how he plans to propose to Eminem’s daughter.
In the latest episode of his podcast, Just a little dodgyEvan revealed he first thought of proposing to her last summer at Lollapalooza in Chicago, where Hailie was going to air her second episode, via Entertainment tonight.
Evan also revealed that he asked Eminem for his blessing before popping the question, and it turned out to be a mission.
“It was during the holidays. I was just looking for an opportunity not to make it too obvious,” he recalls.
“I saw your father come down and [thought], ‘GOOD. I have to do it now or I don’t do it today. I’ll have to schedule another time. So I just followed him down and luckily he was right there grabbing your [birthday] cake.”
Throughout it all, Hailie said she had no idea a proposal was in the works.
He also opened up about how Hailie’s half-sister helped him choose the perfect ring.
“I kinda knew what I was looking for in your ring. Luckily your sister helped me out there,” Evan said.
Hailie revealed she never told her what kind of rings she was in, but it was her sister who “really helped [him] out and basically said [him] what not to get. He added that Hailie’s sister had pointed him in the right direction, but he was starting to panic.
“After I ordered it we were at my family’s house and we were all talking about rings and I think you mentioned you had no idea what you wanted and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I just ordered this ring. She says she doesn’t know what she wants,” he shared.
Eminem’s daughter took to her Instagram on Feb. 6, 2023, to announce that her longtime boyfriend had proposed to her and she said yes.
