Friends star David Schwimmer recently explained why he signed up to appear in The Big Celebrity Bake Off to show.
According The mirrorDavid revealed he wanted to take part in the charity special For Stand Up To Cancer because his grandmother died of the disease, as did his ex-wife’s mother Zoe Buckman.
The actor told viewers that his sister “Ellie was also battling cancer.”
David said: “I lost a grandmother to cancer, my daughter lost a grandmother to cancer and my sister is a cancer survivor so this is important to me.”
“I’m just grateful to be able to help in any way to raise awareness,” the 56-year-old said.
He added: “I’m here to have fun. I’m here to raise money for a great charity. It’s a great cause and I happen to be a big fan of the show.
For the uninitiated, David was married to his ex-wife Zoë Buckman between 2010 and 2017. They share an 11-year-old daughter.
