Christina Applegate backs SKIMS ad featuring disabled model
dead to me Star Christina Applegate has slammed conservative critic Candace Owens over her criticism of an underwear ad featuring a model in a wheelchair.
An excerpt from Owens’ latest episode daily thread The show sparked anger on social media after it lambasted a 2022 campaign for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS clothing line which included a model in a wheelchair.
“I don’t really understand how far we’re going to go with this inclusivity thing. I really do not understand. I don’t know. And if I’m wrong, again educate me, today I just want to be educated in the comments,” Owens said in response to the announcement.
“Why did they do this? I don’t know, I don’t know why this had to be done. I’m getting sick of this inclusivity stuff. It seems ridiculous.
“By the way, I think people in wheelchairs will support me on this,” she said. “I think they are on my side. I think they think it’s stupid.
“Yes late tweet. But I woke up to see the most horrible thing,” Applegate tweeted.
“This person from Candace is commenting on companies seeing that we need help. It’s fucking disgusting. Thanks to Skims and Tommy and Guide Beauty and @neowalksticks for having us.
THE bad moms star with multiple sclerosis, added: “I’ll try to sleep but my rage is keeping me awake. Candace Owens, do you know when you saw pictures of me how fucking hard it was to put my clothing? A team needs to help me!!! So I’m excited about accessibility clothing for me and my community. Hope you wake up.
She then added:
“I thought my last tweet was enough. But then my heart said something else. No rage. If Candace wants to talk to me on the phone to find out about disability. I won’t come in anger. I’ll come in love. Because that she needs to hear that. I pray for her tonight. sincerely.
