Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer can’t wait to get married so her ailing dad can attend: report
Bruce Willis’ daughter, Rumer Willis, is reportedly planning to get married soon so the actor, who suffers from dementia, can walk her down the aisle.
An insider said Speed cameras online that the 34-year-old, who is pregnant with her first baby with handsome Derek Richard Thomas, not only wants her father to attend her nuptials but to attend as well.
“Rumer desperately wants his dad to not only remember his wedding, but be involved in it,” the source said.
“The fact that the doctors said he only had a few years left before the worst effects of aphasia set in is driving Rumer’s decision to get married as soon as possible.
“In a way, it’s a wonderful gift she’s giving her dad given that she’ll have to do a lot of planning during her pregnancy. But everyone in the family knows time is running out,” the source added.
As for The sixth sense star, the insider said he was already planning to walk Rumer down the aisle and give a big speech.
“It gives her something to look forward to and fight for – with the birth of Rumer’s baby!” noted the source.
Previously, another source revealed to the outlet that the actor’s entire family, including his ex-wife Demi Moore, “cherished every moment” they spent with him.
“They know he won’t be around forever,” the insider added. “Demi has been in constant contact with Bruce and [his current wife] Emma.
“She takes every opportunity she can to spend time with him. If she’s not there by his side, she calls on the phone just so Bruce can hear her voice.”
“Bruce can’t say much, and he doesn’t seem to understand much of what other people are saying,” the insider said. “So Emma was really the voice and the communicator for him.”
