Britney Spears has finally broken her silence on social media and the tabloids’ toxic treatment of her.
THE Criminal The crooner took to her Instagram account on Friday and took aim at the paparazzi and the media, specifically quoting TMZ, and complaining about their coverage of her.
Sharing an excerpt from The Andy Griffith Show, Spears wrote a lengthy caption as she called the media. “The constant lies of the media and TMZ I felt like I was borderline harassing…it’s extremely disturbing because it’s incredibly important at this time in my life to be supported and respected!!!” she wrote.
Spears continued, “Also the way the news has always spread lies about me is incredibly heartbreaking!!!”
THE Toxic The singer has highlighted her own personal growth, despite all the negative media attention to the controversies surrounding her, including her guardianship.
“I reflect on the hope and excitement for my future!!! I have transformed my whole life with the removal of my conservatorship and I deserve respect!!!” Spears wrote.
She concluded: “It’s almost embarrassing to comment on this because what is being said is completely outrageous!!! It’s my right to protect myself from the cruelty of the outside world!!!”
