Meghan Markle “knew what she was getting into” when she married Prince Harry, actor Brian Cox has claimed.
Cox delivered a brutal swipe at the Duchess of Sussex, claiming she joined the Royal Family on the assumption that she and Harry could ‘cut themselves off’ from society.
“You can’t walk into a system where someone has already been trained to behave a certain way and expect them to cut themselves,” he reportedly told Haute Living New York.
Cox added, “I mean, she knew what she was getting into.”
The actor, who has previously voiced his support for the monarch’s abolition, said he thought Meghan had ‘ambition’ when she married Harry, MailOnline reports.
Cox, two years before Queen Elizabeth died, told ES Magazine that the British Royal Family should be abolished after the Queen’s death to get rid of their “feudal hold on our culture”.
He added: “I think the Queen is an amazing woman, and what she’s done is amazing. But when she’s gone, the whole bloody shooting match should be over, I really mean it.”
