Anna Kendrick discussed the effect of talking about emotional abuse during her recent press tour for her new movie Alice, darlingthe promotions.
In a new interview with IndieWire, Anna revealed, “People have asked me, ‘Was it hard to shoot the movie?’ and I guess this question makes sense.
“But I actually find the press to be the thing that’s been a bit more difficult to navigate, making sure I’m okay and feel safe in my body,” the 37-year-old said.
The Perfect The star recalled an earlier experience doing a “junket-style day” for the film, in which the actress would go “very quickly through 30 interviews each of about six minutes per person”.
“I came home and I was in the shower and I was like, ‘Why am I feeling so (expletive) right now? And I kind of said to everyone, ‘I don’t think I can do anything else like this,’ explained the Stowaway actress.
Anna has come to realize that “it’s not a reporter’s job to show up” for her in the “same headspace” she is in.
However, she really strives to get into these “really open” conversations.
“It’s a little strange talking to someone who clearly just has a million things to do that day,” noted the Cake Star.
Anna mentioned, “I was like, ‘Oh, I have to draw a boundary there.’
“I can’t really talk about it in that style of conversation,” she added.
Meanwhile, Anna’s new film can be viewed in US cinemas and will be released in the UK on January 20.
