1975’s Matty Healy Swears He Won’t Kiss Fans Out of ‘Respect’ for Taylor Swift

Matty Healy said he wouldn’t kiss any fans at a recent 1975 concert in regards to Taylor Swift.

The Midnights singer, 33, shocked fans after making a surprise appearance at the band’s concert at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday night.

Swift won praise as she took the stage to perform her hit number Anti-Hero live for the very first time.

The music icon’s appearance received massive attention among music lovers as well as Matty, who announced he was refraining from his controversial habits of intimacy with viewers.

In a TikTok clip, which went viral after the show, Matty spoke to the audience about his tradition of hugging fans during the concert.

“I do not kiss anyone in front of Taylor Swift, have a little respect. In front of the queen, it does not happen”, before the leader salutes.

On Wednesday, Matty brought Swift onstage where she asked, “Is it okay if I sing?” before playing his hit Anti-Hero.

She followed this with a cover of the 1975 song The City from their self-titled debut album.

In 2022, Matty revealed his band worked on Taylor’s hit album Midnights but the songs never made the final cut.
